Care Concern (Student)

Care Support Services provides students with outreach, advocacy, and support services when they face significant challenges to their mental, physical, and social health. Use the university's if you have a concern about a student (e.g.: multiple absences from class, signs of a student struggling, concerning behavior, etc.) that you would like to share with us.

Violation of Law, Regulation or Policy

To report a compliance concern – a violation of law, regulation, or policy, including unethical conduct – arising out of conduct by a W&M employee, contractor, volunteer or student, please email the Office of Compliance & Equity using the button below. Complaints are assessed by OC&E, which determines whether an actionable matter is presented and makes referrals as appropriate.

Crime Reporting

Potential criminal actions and other emergencies on campus can be reported directly to the Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â°æ Police Department by calling 757-221-4596. In emergency situations, call 911.

Fraud Complaints

The Attorney General of Virginia enforces consumer protection laws. The of the Attorney General's Office serves as a clearinghouse for consumer complaints. See also State Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Hotline (800-723-1615 or COVHotline@osig.virginia.gov).

Title IX Sexual Harassment

For reporting Title IX Sexual Harassment affecting a student, employee, visitor or guest on campus. With the exception of Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â°æ employees, those using this form can choose whether or not to identify themselves or any of the individuals involved. The Office of Compliance & Equity reviews all reports submitted regardless of when the incident occurred. Additional resources are available for survivors and those supporting survivors on the OC&E website.

Title VI Discrimination or Harassment

For reporting Title VI discrimination or harassment based on race, color or national origin, including discrimination based on shared ancestry or ethnic characteristics affecting a student, employee, visitor or guest on campus. Those using this form can choose whether to identify themselves or any of the individuals involved. The Office of Compliance & Equity reviews all reports submitted regardless of when the incident occurred.

Hazing

For reporting, including anonymous reporting, of possible acts of hazing. Reports are handled by Student Accountability & Restorative Practices.

Free Speech Concerns

Under , no public institution of higher education shall abridge the constitutional freedom of any individual, including enrolled students, faculty and other employees, and invited guests, to speak on campus, except as otherwise permitted by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

This protection is confirmed in Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â°æ's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.

State Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline

Anonymous reporting of "significant instances of fraud, waste, and abuse…illegal or fraudulent conduct, waste of funds, abuse of state property or resources, gross mismanagement or gross neglect of duties… not for general complaints, suggestions or personnel issues."

The hotline is administered by the  and coordinated on campus by Internal Audit.
