About Nathan

My passion for storytelling has taken me down some rewarding career paths in journalism, public relations and media relations. Through those experiences, I feel I was destined to work at this esteemed university.

I began my tenure at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ as a writer for the university’s news & media website, telling stories of the impactful work of students, faculty and staff. I continue to tout those stories in my current position as assistant director of media relations, where I promote the university to local, regional and national news outlets.

Before my time at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ, I spent 15 years as a writer, editor and multimedia journalist at daily newspapers in Danville, Lynchburg and Fredericksburg. I earned the respect and admiration of my peers, winning eight Virginia Press Association awards.

I pride myself on relationship building. During my journalism career and three years in public relations, I formed professional connections with reporters and editors at news outlets throughout the state and region. Those ties continue to hold value as I publicize the influential work of Â鶹Æƽâ°æ.
