Biography
Henry Freytag ’28 is from Northern Virginia and is pursuing degrees in Economics and Chinese Language and Culture. His interest in environmental protection began with family walks through local nature reserves and hikes in the Shenandoah Valley. Traveling throughout the Appalachian Mountains deepened his appreciation for the natural world and reinforced his belief in the importance of thoughtful human action to protect it.
In his studies of Economics, Henry focuses on how environmental conditions shape economic well-being and community resilience. Through conservation work, he hopes to better understand the lived experiences of communities facing natural disasters, resource scarcity, and environmental change. Looking ahead, Henry plans to work directly with communities to support sustainable, equitable, and environmentally resilient solutions
