Background
Harri Horsley is a second-generation Afro-Costa Rican American, a Texan, and a native child of Chicago’s South Side. As an interdisciplinary artist, a trans and queer person, and a product of generations of migration, Harri approaches costume design as a way to illuminate stories of grit, transformation, and transcendence.
Harri holds an MFA in Costume Design from the University of Texas at Austin and a BFA in Design/Technology from Kent State University. In addition to their work as a costume designer, Harri has served on the faculty at Fordham University, James Madison University, and Illinois Wesleyan University.
Outside of their artistic practice, Harri enjoys visiting museums, reading a beautifully written book, and traveling domestically and internationally. They are a proud member of United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE.
