"We begin the evening with a nod to violinist Emil Chudnovsky, who performed as soloist with the Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Symphony Orchestra last spring. Here Chudnovsky brings us Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor with the Hillel Hebrew University Orchestra. A cornerstone of the violin repertoire, the concerto remains one of the most beloved works for the instrument.
For the rest of the opening hour, we’ll enjoy recordings from the College of Â鶹Æƽâ°æ’s student ensembles. Under the direction of Professor David Grandis, the Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Symphony Orchestra plays 'Le Roman de Tristan' by French composer Paul Ladmirault, from a concert they gave last fall. Then, the Choir of the College of Â鶹Æƽâ°æ led by James Armstrong presents Michael Haydn’s graceful 'Ave, Regina Coelorum'."
