Ryan Taylor Goodman (he/él/ele) is a �鶹�ƽ��ing Assistant Teaching Professor of Hispanic Studies in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at �鶹�ƽ��. His research focuses on modern Iberian cultural studies, with particular emphasis on the nineteenth through the twenty-first centuries. His work examines how religious practices enter public discourse, drawing on poetry, ecology, popular religion, tourism, social movements, diaspora, and transatlantic studies.

Goodman’s current book project, Reinventing the Modern Camino de Santiago: Business, Politics, and Memory, examines the nineteenth-century revival of pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela by tracing the diverse interests that shaped the modern Camino. The book ultimately shows how Santiago and the Camino became contested symbols of (trans)national historical memory.

Goodman serves as Secretary of the Modern Language Association’s Galician Forum and has collaborated with �鶹�ƽ��’s Institute for Pilgrimage Studies, leading students abroad.
