Monitoring of Nesting Diamondback Terrapins on Long Beach Island, NJ
At Long Beach Island, NJ, Isabelle Cleaveland (Chemistry ’28) contributed to ongoing diamondback terrapin research by tagging and measuring adults, documenting nesting behavior and locations, and protecting turtles and nests. Her study area included typical habitat as well as developed areas. Isabelle helped lead community education programs to spread the word about terrapins and how to help them. A pdf presentation on Isabelle's work is available here: Monitoring of
