Background

Hannah M. Alarian is an Assistant Professor of Government. Dr. Alarian’s research is in the field of Comparative and European politics, with specific interests in citizenship, immigration, prejudice, and the far-right. Her research has appeared in a variety of journals, including the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, and Comparative Political Studies.

Dr. Alarian received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine. After her doctoral studies, she was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Virginia. Dr. Alarian holds a BA in Political Science, BS in Psychology, and MA in Applied Social Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Florida, where she founded the Political Behavior Lab.
