In fulfilling the obligations outlined in of the Code of Virginia (Virginia Code), Â鶹Æƽâ°æ has established two privately funded, endowed scholarships for the Enslaved Ancestors College Access Scholarship and Memorial Program. The Lemon Scholarship Endowment ($5,130) and the Anne R. Willis Scholarship Endowment ($4,350) are one-time scholarships that will each be awarded annually to an eligible Virginian undergraduate student to partially defray the cost of attendance at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ.

According to scholarship guidelines, to be eligible, an applicant must demonstrate a personal and historical connection to slavery in Virginia or is a member of a specific community that has experienced the negative legacy born out of the institution of slavery (i.e., economic inequality, inadequate funding of k-12 education, limited access to technology).

Eligible incoming and currently enrolled students are welcome to apply for both scholarships by submitting one application
